Can someone tell me what the differences are I had bought this thing at midnight and had to leave the next day. Seems there are three different kinds: SX, ES and R. I was looking to buy a manual for an 85, ATC250 three wheeler I have recently acquired. ( OGG VORTAC 250R / 014 DME ) 1000 ' / below, sunrise to sunset. I have this complete atc 250 sx for sale call me for info 2107259780. The only thing that has ever out run my 250R are a couple of highly worked Banshees. I pop the clutch then let of the gas for a split second then nail it and let that power band pull me right past you about second gear,then buy third gear you get to read the C-YA sticker on the back. Unless I sit on the handlebars and put my feet on the front fender my light front end will wheelie to the sky,so us 3 wheelerguys have to feather the clutch a little more. And about that acceleration you guys want to brag about on your quads,just think about all that extra weight you have to hold the front WHEELS down. The 87-89 cylinders will perform just as good as the 85-86 if set-up correctly. A lot of builders/tuners picked the 85-86 cylinder verses the 87-89 mostly for ease of porting on the intake side. And as far as those Banshees go I have out run many of those unless they have motor work and a lot of money sunk into it. I was thinking the 88 might perform a little better because of the larger transfer ports, but it doesnt sound like it. You can take any new 4 stroke 4 wheeler off the showroom floor and put whatever bolt on items you can buy and after you spend all of that money I will then show you how an 18 year old 250R will smoke your ass. The Honda had the best handling and suspension. I dont give a crap how bad you make a 400EX, 440EX,or how ever many more cc's you can squeeze into that 4 stroke piece of junk. Of the three, the Tecate was the fastest in a drag race, followed by the lt250r, and then the Honda. Boy all of you must either be high or have never ridden a Honda ATC 250R.
